Nature Trails, Barnyard, and Playground

Enjoy the fresh country air!

Visit our resident animals in and around the Barnyard.  Kristen's sheep are usually in or around the Barn.  Most of the time they are free range so they go where they please (so watch your step).  During late Spring and early Summer you might happen to get a chance to see the young lambs jump and play.   Our Scottish Highland steers (Richard and Junior) spend their winters in the Barnyard but move to greener pastures in the field along the laneway during Summer.  If the kids (or adults) are looking to burn off some energy we have a playground with a tube slide, teeter totter, swing set and a thrilling Zip Line.

Nature Trails

Experience the wilderness that Canada is known for on a stroll through our 730 acre sugar bush passing through maple forests, age old White Pine stands, wetlands, and beaver houses.   No matter what the season you are sure to see a large variety of wildlife, plants, and trees.

We have many trails suited for every physical ability:

  • One short wheelchair accessible boardwalk trail into the sugar bush

  • 3 different trails approximately 1 km  in length (Ridge Trail and and Horse Loop are stroller friendly when no snow)

  • A brisk 3.5 km walk on Woksis Run

  • During dry season and winter months Maple Trail is a more challenging 8+ km trail. (Check at camp for status)

  • Bring your own cross-county skis or snow shoes (snowshoe rentals available) during winter months (more information)
